Alba Mineral Resources Snapshot
Alba's diversified asset and investment portfolio provides Alba with access to a range of assets with the potential to add significant value for the Company's shareholders:
- Amitsoq graphite (Alba 90%): high-grade graphite comprising a former mine with drill-ready targets;
- Thule Black Sands (Alba 100%): ilmenite confirmed over a strike legnth of 10km of Alba's licence area;
- Melville Bay iron ore (Alba 51%): previously drilled project with a JORC resource of 67MT @ 31.4% Fe;
- Inglefield Land multi-commodity project (Alba 100%): known copper, cobalt, gold and nickel mineralisation.
- Gold Mines of Wales (Alba 90%): an exploration licence which incorporates the historic Clogau-St David's gold mine.
Oil & Gas
- Horse Hill oil & gas (Alba 9.765%): Long-term flow tests underway since late June 2018, designed to confirm commerciality;
- Brockham oil & gas (Alba 5%): previously producing oil field, production testing expected Q4 2018.
In addition, Alba has onshore oil & gas investments in the highly prospective Weald Basin in the United Kingdom.
George Frangeskides, Executive Chairman
Mr Frangeskides has a broad range of experience gained from over 25 years in the legal and corporate advisory sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom. He is Executive Director at Berwick Capital, a corporate advisory firm which for the past 10 years has advised ASX, AIM-listed and private companies on projects and transactions in the mining and oil and gas sectors. Prior to establishing Berwick Capital, Mr Frangeskides practised as a lawyer focusing on corporate finance, commercial and capital market transactions.
With his experience in mergers and acquisitions, Mr Frangeskides leads all corporate negotiations for the Company. He has an extensive network of contacts across the mineral exploration and investment sectors in the UK, Asia-Pacific, North America, Middle East and Far East regions, giving the Company wide exposure to both investors and potential investments.
A confident communicator, Mr Frangeskides regularly makes presentations about the Company and projects to the media and to shareholders.
Michael Nott, Non-Executive Director
Mr Nott is a geologist and mining engineer by profession and has 40 years’ experience in the oil & gas, mining, minerals and quarrying industries. His early career was based in Zambia, including nine years with Roan Consolidated Mines Limited. He was a regional manager for Pioneer Aggregates (UK) Limited, then an Australian company, and later a director of Jay Minerals Services Limited and Hills Aggregates Limited, becoming trading director of ARC (Southern) Limited and production director of C. White Limited.
Mr Nott is currently a non-executive director of Red Rock Resources plc (LON:RRR) and a director and CEO of Magyar Mining Limited. Extremely knowledgeable, he draws on his extensive experience of both the mining industry and the corporate world to offer pragmatic advice to the Company.
Manuel Lamboley, Non-Executive Director
Mr Lamboley is a financier with over 30 years' experience in international broking and investment banking. Mr Lamboley previously served as Head of the Geneva office of Williams de Bröe, as well as holding senior positions at Bank Julius Bär, Kidder Peabody, Paine Webber International and Prudential-Bache Securities.
Mr Lamboley has previously been a non-executive director of several listed companies in the mining and energy sectors, including International Mining & Infrastructure Corporation Plc, and was also previously an independent director of UK-based African Aura Resources Limited.
Mr Lamboley has extensive knowledge of the investment banking industry and long-standing relationships with major investors and financial advisers worldwide, with a particular focus on the natural resources sector. Mr Lamboley holds Swiss citizenship.
Consultants and Advisers
Howard Baker, Technical Director - Mining
Howard Baker is a resource geologist with over 20 years' experience covering multiple commodities from early-stage exploration through to definitive feasibility studies. He is the Managing Director of Baker Geological Services Ltd. Mr. Baker previously worked for international mining consultancy SRK Consulting (UK) Ltd ("SRK") where he spent eight years as a Principal Consultant and Practice Leader. In his time at SRK, he concentrated on the management of mineral resource estimates with a strong focus on technical quality management and compliance with international reporting codes. In addition, he played a key role in advising on suitable exploration protocols and drill programmes and assisted clients in the development of numerous large-scale projects in Africa. Prior to his time at SRK, Mr. Baker lived and worked in Australia, working for Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Iluka Resources, Western Mining Corporation and Anaconda Nickel. He is a chartered professional fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Feroz Sultan, Technical Director - Oil & Gas
Feroz Sultan is a petroleum geologist with over 45 years of diverse experience in the management, exploration, development and production of oil and gas, Mr. Sultan has managed both onshore and offshore oil and gas field developments. His experience includes over six years (2007-13) as Chief Executive Officer/Director of Petro Ventures International, a private company which participated in the drilling of wells which have resulted in establishing gas fields in the UK North Sea (Breagh) and offshore Romania (Ana and Doina). Mr. Sultan also spent three years (2003-6) as Chief Operating Officer/Technical Director of Grove Energy Ltd, the AIM and TSX-V listed company which merged with Stratic Energy in 2007 with a merger valuation of approximately C$123 million.
Sue Corrigan, Technical Consultant - Oil & Gas
Sue Corrigan is a geologist and geoscientist with 40 years' industry experience. Ms. Corrigan has extensive experience of reservoir evaluation in the UK Continental Shelf and the UK Southern Gas Basin and in Norway, Algeria, Venezuela, Uganda, Kenya, sub-Saharan Africa and West Africa (offshore Ghana). She began her career at Shell and Amoco. Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 2015, Ms. Corrigan spent over six years at Tullow Oil plc, the FTSE 250 independent oil and gas exploration and production company, and was Principal Geoscientist between August 2011 and May 2015.
