“The maiden mineral resource estimate is a significant milestone for Mako Gold. It is the first step in our vision to discover a multi-million-ounce resource base at the Napié Project,” says MD Peter Ledwidge.
West Africa has been the most prospective gold exploration region in the world over the past 15 years with a huge rise in resources and production.
"The results received from the aircore drilling in conjunction with our mapping and rock chip sampling have identified a 2-kilometre-long high-priority mineralised area which we will RC drill test following the current wet season," says MD.
“We are once again highly encouraged with the high success rate in our drilling with 40 of the 49 holes drilled returning significant gold results,” says MD.

Drilling is ongoing at Gogbala and a third drill rig is being mobilised and expected to arrive within two weeks to accelerate drilling prior to the maiden mineral resource estimate next quarter.

Drilling at Gogbala has returned multiple high-grade intersections, including 1-metre at 30.89 g/t gold, found in an emerging zone two kilometres north of the priority mineral resource estimate area.
The objective is to make new discoveries outside of the main Tchaga and Gogbala prospect areas as part of Mako’s overall strategy to define a multi-million-ounce resource on the Côte d’Ivoire permit.
“We are fully financed to advance this exciting new greenfield program on the Korhogo Project, as well as the Napié Project which remains our primary focus as we rapidly progress towards our mineral resource estimate," says MD.
The company is confident of adding ounces of gold to its mineral resource estimates at Napié following pleasing assay results from recent drilling.

Its current cash position of around A$12 million provides ample funding to complete the planned programs.
The recent positive drill results from Gogbala, one of several prospective zones on the 30-kilometre-long Napié Fault, advances Mako’s goal of delineating a multi-million-ounce resource on the Napié Permit.
"The wide and high-grade intercepts returned from Gogbala drilling are making Gogbala look more and more like 'Tchaga 2.0'. Both prospects have strong mineralisation outlined over a 2-kilometre strike length,” says MD.
“Although it is early days it appears that Gogbala is likely to have the same stacked lodes which are prominent at Tchaga,” says MD.
