Sovereign Metals Ltd is focused on developing its Kasiya Rutile-Graphite Project in Malawi to become a leading global supplier to the titanium and graphite industries. “Importantly, the very low graphite production costs at Kasiya should allow Sovereign to compete aggressively on price point across global graphite markets," says MD Dr Julian Stephens.
The updated MRE positions Kasiya as the largest rutile deposit in the world with more than double the contained rutile of its nearest rutile peer, Sierra Rutile.

The company’s maiden MoU is part of its product marketing strategy and comes as demand and pricing for natural rutile are both very strong with the global structural deficit in supply continuing to widen.

The new director will also chair the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) committee.
The company’s aim was not just to increase its bank balance to further exploration activities at its Kasiya Rutile Project, but also to enhance its shareholder base on the AIM market.
Kasiya is the largest undeveloped rutile deposit in the world, so there’s major upside tied to its development in a market characterised by extreme supply deficit.
This is expected to further raise the company’s profile in the northern hemisphere and facilitate the participation of UK and other European investors in Sovereign’s growth.
