Legend has purchased two tenements, which will expand its Rockford Project.
Legend finished the December quarter with $8.2 million in liquid assets.
The Rockford project is located in the globally renowned Fraser Range district.
Legend Mining (ASX:LEG) has received a request from Jindal Steel and Power Limited to consider a further deferral of the payment of the final amount of $3 million owing to Legend from the sale of the Cameroon Iron Ore project.
Mark Wilson commented: "The conductors at Area N look to be walk up drill targets."
The primary target is a Nova style nickel-copper mineralisation.
Legend Mining (ASX:LEG) is preparing to reveal assay results from aircore drilling at the company’s 70% Rockford Project, located in the Fraser Range of Western Australia.
The aim of the program is to generate the next set of reverse circulation and diamond drill targets.
Drilling will take 3 to 4 weeks with assays to follow.
Legend holds $11.2 million in cash, cash equivalents and receivables at end of September 2016.
Legend has commenced an extensive MLTEM program at Rockford, aimed at testing the newly defined targets for bedrock conductors. These targets may represent massive nickel-copper mineralisation associated with mafic/ultramafic intrusives.
Mark Wilson, MD, commented: “We have always disclosed that the purpose of our treasury operations is to generate cash to spend on our own projects." The treasury now holds $12.1 million.
