“Step-out holes intersecting mineralisation in the right rocks in all traverses drilled this year adds to our confidence of a large mineralised system at this prospect,” says MD.
The report said that low deleterious elements and extremely high iron:magnesium ratio from recent metallurgical work compares favourably to Nova-Bollinger ore.
Regional electromagnetic (EM) surveying and aircore drilling are due to commence later in April this year.
This week there have been 74.9 million March 30, 2021, options exercised and another 2 million September 30, 2022, options.
The nickel concentrate was particularly desirable due to the high Fe:MgO ratio with no other deleterious elements.
In addition, assay results from RKRC041 confirm a new mineralised intrusion 2 kilometres south of Mawson within the Mawson Intrusive Complex.
RKDD034 has assayed 31.1 metres at 2.80% nickel, 2.04% copper and 0.15% cobalt from 200.7 metres - the thickest and highest-grade massive nickel-copper sulphide intercept at Mawson to date.
Aircore drilling has identified new nickel-copper targets in the northwest area of the company’s Fraser Range holding.
This speaks to the potential for more mineralisation to be discovered at Mawson as the drilling footprint expands.
Integration of diamond drilling, reverse circulation, aircore and geophysical datasets continue to evolve the 3D emplacement model of Mawson and assist future diamond drill hole planning and design.
The company continues to intersect nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation which will be targeted in ongoing drill programs.
“The key objective of the ongoing work at Mawson is to look for and find the primary source of this mineralisation,” said MD.
Both DHTEM conductors are highly ranked targets and are scheduled for drill testing sequentially after completion of the current drill hole.
Diamond hole 027 has intersected 26.25 metres of nickel-copper sulphide including 15.45 metres of massive sulphide and 10.8 metres of semi-massive and matrix sulphide.
A regional aircore drilling program comprising 250 holes for 16,000 metres is underway on the western portion of the Rockford Project to test a combination of aeromagnetic and gravity features.
Legend runs the Rockford Project in Fraser Range, WA in partnership with high-profile explorer Mark Creasy and his Creasy Group and Independence Group.
The massive sulphide hit was within a mineralised zone of more than 90 metres which also included 7.55 metres of semi-massive sulphide.
Diamond, reverse circulation and aircore drilling continues at the Mawson discovery within the Rockford Project as well as DHTEM surveying in diamond and RC drill holes.
“The new offhole conductor from hole 21 is modelled as double the strength of the conductor which hole 21 was designed to test,” says MD.
