Black Rock Mining Ltd (ASX:BKT) has a 100% interest in the Mahenge Project in Tanzania which hosts a multi-generational graphite resource and is one of the largest JORC-compliant flake graphite resources globally. The Mahenge Project is spread across 324 square kilometres of exploration tenements in Tanzania’s Ulanga district. Black Rock’s definitive feasibility study for the project considers a four-stage construction schedule to deliver up to 340,000 tonnes per annum of 98.5% graphite concentrate for 26 years.

Black Rock has been holding meetings with potential European and Asian offtake partners, with its global marketing activities are directed at securing long term offtake supply agreements from Mahenge.
Achieving >99% purities for both oxide and primary zones at Ulanzi and Epanko north underpins the potential for the Mahenge Project to deliver superior graphite products to market, to the lithium ion battery market.
Spherical graphite test work is underway in Europe to determine the suitability of Mahenge graphite for battery applications with results expected in late July.
Black Rock has produced strong metallurgical results at its Mahenge graphite project in Tanzania. Next, new metallurgical samples will be sent over the coming months to test additional portions of the Ulanzi and Cascade lodes.
Key takeways from the Scoping Study included a 2 year payback period, a Net Present Value of US$285.7 million and an Internal Rate of Return of 62% for development of the the Mahenge Graphite Project.
