The company will start its 2022 program of works by drilling extensional targets confirmed following passive seismic geophysical surveying.
“Formal confirmation of the successful renewal of the Kroussou exploration licence is an important step for the company as we advance the Kroussou Project,” says executive director.
The zinc-lead discoveries made at Kroussou are represented by thick intercepts at shallow depths with geometry that may be favourable to simple low-cost open-pit mining scenarios.

New drill holes show significantly higher endowment when compared to the insufficiently sampled nearby historical drilling – highlighting the strong upside potential of the whole Dikaki system.
“We are excited by these new results at Dikaki with drilling in the east of the prospect now demonstrating significant grade continuity at very shallow depths; which has not been previously identified,” says executive director.
Apollo’s maiden drilling campaign at Niamabimbou prospect is underway, with all eyes on a prospective 8-kilometre trend that could host extensive zinc-lead mineralisation.
Exploration to date has validated province-scale base metals potential, with multiple opportunities for discovery with 18 prospects open and underexplored, with broader, deeper parts of the basin completely untested.

Drill plans have been finalised for the Dikaki and Niamabimbou prospects based on historical exploration and the results of recent field exploration programs.

Positive initial metallurgical test work has confirmed high recoveries and produced separate, high-grade and high-quality zinc and lead concentrates with very low deleterious/penalty elements.
The company continues to carry out surface exploration comprising soil surveying, geological mapping and rock chip sampling.
With the shortfall now complete, Apollo is in a strong financial position to progress with its planned exploration programs at the Kroussou Project in Gabon.
