Apollo Minerals continues field exploration at Kroussou Zinc-Lead Project ahead of drilling

Sampling to date at the Kroussou project has produced grades of up to 20.16% combined zinc-lead in rock chips.

Apollo Minerals Ltd (ASX:AON) is continuing field exploration programs to further assess identified prospects and generate new targets within the broader Kroussou project area in Gabon, Africa.

The company is advancing plans for drilling programs designed to define shallow, high-grade zinc-lead mineralisation ahead of beginning feasibility studies at the project.

To date, only four of the 18 identified prospects have been drill tested, with zinc-lead mineralisation being intersected at shallow depths at all four prospects.

Apollo plans to use a track-mounted reverse circulation (RC) rig suitable for a rapid drilling program over multiple channels.

EIA conditions precedent extension

In September 2019 Apollo entered into an Earn-In Agreement (EIA) with Trek Metals Limited to earn-in up to 80% in the Krossou project.

The EIA is subject to several conditions, including the issuance of a Mining Convention Agreement.

Apollo understands the approvals process for the mining convention agreement is nearing completion, having been signed by the Minister of Mines with approval required from the Minister of Economy and Finance.

For the final approval to take place, the company has extended the conditions precedent end date in the EIA to June 2, 2020.
