Intertek Group plc offers quality and safety services to industries. It has four segments: Oil, Chemical & Agri, which provides cargo inspection, testing and analytical services to the oil and gas, chemical, agricultural, mineral and pharmaceutical sectors; Commercial & Electrical, which provides testing, inspection and certification services, including those in the home appliances, medical, building, industrial, information technology and telecom and automotive sectors; Consumer Goods, which provides services to the textiles, food and hardlines industries, and Government Services, which provides trade services to standards bodies and governments. In September 2008, it acquired H.P. White Laboratory Inc. In December 2008, it acquired EKO-LAB SP. z.o.o., a testing laboratory that provides microbiological and chemical analysis services to the food, industry. In January 2009, it acquired Porst & Partner GmbH. In January 2009, it also acquired Food Facility Audit business of RQA Inc.
