Intertek expands in cyber security markets with purchase of network security firm NTA Monitor

The FTSE 100-listed testing, inspection and certification services provider noted that NTA employs 48 people across the UK and Malaysia and generated revenue of £3.2mln in 2017

Intertek Group PLC (LON:ITRK) has acquired network security firm NTA Monitor in a bid to tap into the growing UK cyber security and network assurance market.

The FTSE 100-listed testing, inspection and certification services provider noted that NTA, which was established in 1996, employs 48 people across the UK and Malaysia and generated revenue of £3.2mln in 2017.

Intetek did not disclose the price of the acquisition but said it will build its presence in one of the largest cyber security markets in the world.

It added that the deal would also bolster and enhance its current footprint in the global network assurance and cyber security certification market, it added.

Intertek’s chief executive Andre Lacroix commented: "The demand for cyber security Assurance services will continue to grow rapidly as the regulatory environment intensifies and organisations look to secure their networks.

“The acquisition of NTA further strengthens Intertek's leading presence and expertise in the global cyber security certification and assurance space.”
