Big Picture – A Deep Dive Examination of Galan Lithium Ltd

Galan Lithium Ltd Snapshot

Galan Lithium Ltd is an Australian based mineral exploration company established to generate shareholder wealth by identifying, acquiring and/or developing mineral projects.

Hombre Muerto Project

Blue Sky Lithium is a lithium exploration company with the rights to earn 100% interests in projects located in the world class Lithium Triangle region in Argentina.

Projects located in the Hombre Muerto Salt flat, adjacent to Galaxy Resources (mkt cap; A$1.2bn) and FMC Lithium Corp. (mkt cap; ~A$15bn). POSCO is a potential new entrant subject to part sale of GXY’s Sal de Vida project (ASX:GXY 29 May 2018)

The Hombre Muerto Salar is the premiere lithium brine basin in Argentina – high grade, low impurities, (Li:Mg <4) FMC El Fenix operation has been in production for over 20 years.

Targeting fast tracking to exploration with a potential JORC in Q2 2019 to achieve production of Lithium Carbonate.

Alasehir (Turkey)

The Licence is located within the Alasehir Basin, an elongate Tertiary graben extending for ~100km. The basin shows many similarities with the prolific oil producing Tertiary basins of S.E Asia and the giant oil bearing African rift valleys.

Clastic reservoir sediments and rich source rocks reach thicknesses of over 3,000m with a high geothermal gradient ideal for early oil generation and entrapment.

Exploration on the Licence area has previously occurred in two phases. Four wells were drilled and 2D seismic work conducted from 1998-2001 by the Turkish National Oil Company. All four wells recorded good oil shows, including one oil blowout, which was capped.

Greenbushes South

This project comprises one Exploration Licence application (E70/4629) covering a total area of approximately 43 km2. It is approximately 15kms to the south of the Greenbushes mine.

The Greenbushes mine has been producing lithium from the Greenbushes Lithium Operations for over 25 years.  It was established in 1983 and initially focussed on tantalum production but its primary product is lithium. The most recent public lithium resource for the mine was 119.4Mt @ 2.24% Li2O as at 30th September 2013.

The Greenbushes South project is considered prospective for lithium, tin and tantalum. It has similar mineralisation to what exists at the Greenbushes mine.

Most of the project is covered with laterite; which is known to mask pegmatites. However, field reconnaissance and mapping undertaken by Galan Lithium in and around the old historical tin mining areas has revealed remnant pegmatite characteristic within areas of outcropping lateritic duricrust. Exploration programmes are being planned and will commence upon grant of the tenement. The Company is seeking to expedite the grant.
