Galan Lithium Ltd (ASX:GLN) is preparing to drill its Western Basin Project while it awaits the release of a maiden JORC resource for the Candelas Lithium Brine Project.
Both projects are located on the Hombre Muerto salar in Argentina.
Preparatory works to access sites for maiden drilling within the Western Basin Project have now been completed within the Pata Pila and Rana del Sal target areas.
Drilling will target lithium brine at highly conductive anomalies recorded in an exploration survey completed in September 2018.
Hombre Muerto salar hosts very high-quality lithium
Meanwhile, the JORC resource estimation work for Candelas’s northern portion is on track for delivery in the current September quarter.
Galan’s managing director Juan Pablo Vargas de la Vega said: “With the maiden resource currently being defined for Candelas, we are now turning our attention to drilling our Western Basin projects where we hope to discover more low impurity, high-grade lithium in our land holding in one of the richest lithium areas in the world.”
Following the maiden resource at Candelas, Galan will look to commence a pre-feasibility study (PFS) into the potential development of the project.
