Cohort PLC (AIM:CHRT) subsidiary Marlborough Communications Ltd (MCL) has secured two UK defence contracts worth a combined £17.9 million, including a £14.0 million order for uncrewed air systems.
The larger contract, awarded by a UK government customer, covers the immediate delivery of uncrewed air systems together with two years of in-service support.
MCL will work with its long-term partner Skydio to supply the systems.
Separately, MCL has received a £3.9 million order to supply tactical audio systems to a UK customer.
Orders strengthen revenue visibility
Cohort chief executive Andrew Thomis said the contracts demonstrated the strength of MCL’s relationships with its UK customers and reflected the subsidiary’s ability to combine new technology with engineering expertise to address defence requirements.
The contracts also add to recent orders secured across Cohort and provide the group with greater visibility over future revenue.
Cohort said it has now secured sufficient orders to fully underpin consensus revenue forecasts for the 2025/26 financial year.
MCL builds UK defence order book
MCL designs, sources and supports electronic and surveillance technology for UK end users, including the Ministry of Defence and other government agencies, and has been part of Cohort since July 2014.
Cohort is an AIM-listed technology group operating across defence and related markets through seven businesses in the UK, Australia, Germany and Portugal.
MCL is scheduled to begin immediate delivery of the uncrewed air systems, followed by 2 years of in-service support under the £14.0 million contract.
