Avon Technologies PLC (LSE:AVON) has secured a further $20.3 million delivery order from the US Defense Logistics Agency for second-generation Advanced Combat Helmets.
The order, awarded to its Team Wendy Ceradyne business, sits under the Advanced Combat Helmet Gen II framework contract first announced in February 2022.
Avon's latest award takes ordering under the contract to the maximum volume authorised for the current option year.
Team Wendy designs and manufactures high-performance ballistic and impact protection helmet systems for military and law enforcement customers.
Chief executive Jos Sclater said: “This additional delivery order is another strong endorsement of Team Wendy's performance and reliability.
“Bringing the current option year to its maximum ordering volume demonstrates the confidence DLA has in our ability to manufacture and deliver ACH Gen II helmets to schedule.”
Sclater added that the award strengthened Avon’s long-term relationship with the US agency and reflected improvements in Team Wendy’s operational performance, execution and reliability.
“We remain focused on supporting the warfighter and delivering for our customer,” he said.
Avon Technologies specialises in protective equipment for military and law enforcement users, with its products protecting more than four million service personnel and first responders across more than 70 markets.
The group operates through two divisions: Avon Protection, which develops respiratory and integrated protective systems, and Team Wendy, its ballistic and impact protection helmet business.
