Shoe Zone soars as sale-and-weather boosted performance tracks ahead of expectations

Shoe Zone PLC (AIM:SHOE) shares soared more than 20% higher in Thursday's early trade after sales during May and June came in ahead of market expectations.

As a result, the footwear retail now expects to see adjusted loss before tax of no more than £1 million for the year ending 3 October 2026, versus previous guidance, from April, that pointed to a loss of between £1 million and £2 million.

It revealed that trading was helped by a warehouse closing-down sale and favourable seasonal weather during the half-term period.

Shoe Zone added that the higher sales had also strengthened its cash position, with the board continuing to monitor cash management and deployment.

In London, Shoe Zone shares were up 12% at 56p, having traded as high as 60p today.
