Where before Tomingley, Calidus and Genesis had been the only tangible contributors to Alkane’s valuation, they have now been joined by Boda, which the company estimates is worth an immediate US$125.5 million or A$0.31/share.
The company has exceeded its FY2022 production guidance, with the Tomingley Operations producing 66,804 ounces of gold for the 12 months to June 30, 2022.
Alkane MD Nic Earner said this resource at Boda is just the beginning and the company is planning further drilling across its tenement package.
“Pouring our 500,000th ounce is a significant milestone that provides a fitting testament to the teams that have worked on the Tomingley Gold Project and Operations since the days of discovery by Alkane in the early 2000s,” says MD.
“With the project approval process well underway we look forward to delivering on this potential for our shareholders, employees and other stakeholders in NSW,” says MD.
Boda is a landmark porphyry gold-copper system, within the Northern Molong Porphyry Project, which the company believes has the potential to be a large, tier-one gold-copper project.
Final assays from the Boda higher-grade resource drilling are scheduled for March and will be incorporated into the maiden resource estimation database.
Gold sold for the quarter was 17,754 ounces at an average sales price of A$2,475/ ounce, generating revenue of A$43.9 million.
Gold-copper mineralisation is now outlined over a three kilometres strike length from Boda Three to Kaiser.
Assay results have been received for a further 19 core and reverse circulation drill holes testing the extensive gold-copper mineralisation at Boda, Boda Two, Boda Three and Kaiser within the Northern Molong Porphyry Project.
Broker says Alkane now trades at a discount to its NAV at 0.75 times and has the potential to re-rate to that of a 100,000 ounces midcap gold producer.
The latest drill results have the potential to expand the existing resource as well as open up new gold prospects.
The gold producer was able to increase its total resources and ore reserves against the previous financial year thanks to work at the Roswell and San Antonio deposits.
The company’s gold production is from the Tomingley Gold Operations in Central West New South Wales, where it is expediting a development pathway to extend mine life beyond 2030.
“The high-grade breccia zone at surface not only further emphasises the large vertical depth of the system, but also gives rise to considering open cut as a potential mining method at Boda,” says MD.
The company’s shares will remain in a trading halt until Tuesday, August 17, or when an announcement is released to the market.
During the June quarter, gold production at the Tomingley operations was above forecasts at 13,500 ounces with site operating cash costs at A$1,199/ounce and all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of A$1,669/ounce.
