Alkane Resources halted with update pending on exploration results from Boda Project

The company’s shares will remain in a trading halt until Tuesday, August 17, or when an announcement is released to the market.

Alkane Resources Ltd (ASX:ALK) has been granted a trading halt by ASX with the company about to release an update on exploration results from the Boda Project in Central West New South Wales.

The halt will remain in place until the start of regular trade on Tuesday, August 17, or until an announcement is released to the market, whichever occurs earliest.

Alkane shares last traded at A$1.035, while the company’s market cap is approximately A$616.2 million.

Increased gold production

The company’s shares gained nearly 62% in the June quarter, as the company beat its own gold production forecasts.

The share price run came on the back of strong gold production, sales and exploration at its Tomingley Gold Operations (TGO) 50 kilometres southwest of Dubbo in central NSW.

Gold production was above forecast for the quarter at 13,500 ounces, with site operating cash costs at A$1,199/ounce and all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of A$1,669/ounce.

Alkane sold 11,526 ounces for the quarter, bringing in A$27.7 million in revenue at an average price of A$2,401 an ounce.

The Boda exploration prospect is to the northeast of the TGO and within the company’s Northern Molong Porphyry Project.
