Volt Resources Ltd (ASX:VRC) is a critical minerals and battery material company with a 70% interest in the Zavalievsky Graphite (ZG) business in Ukraine. The ZG mine and processing facilities have been in operation since 1934 and are near key markets with significant developments in lithium-ion battery production. Volt has acquired three licence applications in Serbia that are prospective for lithium-borate mineralisation. The company is also progressing the development of its large wholly-owned Bunyu Graphite Project in Tanzania.

The agreement will focus on coated spheronised purified graphite (CSPG) and non-spherical graphite products to enhance lithium-ion battery (LIB) performance.

“Completing an updated feasibility study for Bunyu Stage 1 will provide us with a current estimate of what the project will cost to deliver and what its economic returns will be," said Volt managing director Trevor Matthews.
The offtake agreement follows a Letter of Intent (LOI) entered into between Graphex and Volt Graphite Tanzania Ltd for the purchase of 5,000 tonnes of fine flake graphite product annually for 10 years from Volt's Bunyu Graphite Project.

The company is planning production of battery anode material (BAM) for potential customers in the US including the Energy Supply Developer's (ESD) super site.

The company will also use proceeds from the placement to advance downstream graphite processing initiatives.
