Talisman Metals' Morocco copper project shows "exciting grades"

Talisman Metals PLC (LSE:TLM) has returned copper grades of up to 2.62% from channel sampling at a newly identified mineralised zone at its Tirzzit project in Morocco, sharpening the target for a planned drilling campaign.

Six of seven channels returned values above the company’s 0.3% copper cut-off, including 1.69 metres at 2.62% copper and 41.54ppm silver and 2.78 metres at 2.16% copper and 41.76ppm silver. The intercepts were reported as true widths.

Sampling added around 70 metres of lateral continuity within an interpreted 300-metre northwest-trending mineralised horizon. The new outcrop sits around half a kilometre from known exposed mineralisation to the south, while Talisman said the overall prospective strike extends for at least four kilometres.

Chief executive Tim McCutcheon said the new target had produced “exciting grades” and would be a key focus of the upcoming drill campaign. Talisman is reviewing historic exploration and geophysical data ahead of exploration planning scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2026.
