South32 Ltd (LSE:S32, ASX:S32, OTC:SHTLF, JSE:S32) has entered into a binding agreement to divest its Cerro Matoso nickel operation in Colombia to a subsidiary of CoreX Holding B.V., marking a strategic move to streamline its portfolio and focus on higher-margin businesses.

The deal, which is subject to regulatory approvals and a reorganisation of the entity holding Cerro Matoso, is expected to complete by late 2025.

QMines Ltd (ASX:QML) has completed its acquisition of the Mt Mackenzie Gold and Silver Project from Resources & Energy Group Ltd, adding another high-quality asset to its expanding portfolio of copper and gold projects in Queensland and further strengthening its foothold in the region’s lucrative mining sector.

The project, located near QMines' existing Mt Chalmers and Develin Creek assets, enhances the company’s strategic hub-and-spoke development model. With Mt Mackenzie’s existing JORC resource of 3.4 million tonnes at 1.18 g/t gold and 9 g/t silver, the deal increases QMines’ precious metal exposure, setting the company up for further exploration and growth.

Buru Energy Ltd (ASX:BRU, OTC:BRNGF) has received approval from the Western Australian Government Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE) for a two-year extension to apply for a Petroleum Production Licence or a Petroleum Retention Lease over the Rafael gas and condensate field, located within Exploration Permit EP 428 in the Canning Basin.

The extension preserves Buru’s development timeline for the Rafael Gas Project, allowing the company to progress towards first production while retaining the flexibility to lodge a licence application upon completion of key project milestones.

Aurum Resources Ltd (ASX:AUE) has commenced a 30,000-metre diamond drilling program at its Napié Gold Project in Côte d'Ivoire, as the company targets substantial growth in its existing resource base.

The drilling, which started in June, forms part of Aurum’s broader strategy to expand its current 870,000-ounce gold resource and to test several promising untested targets across the project area.

RBC Capital Markets analyst Alex Barkley has labelled Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX:NST) financial year 2026 (FY26) guidance as “weak” across key metrics, driving investor concern and a 6% fall in the company’s share price to A$17.27.

Barkley noted that FY26 production guidance of 1.7–1.85 million ounces (Moz) was “slightly lower” than consensus estimates of 1.811Moz, despite already softened expectations following a guidance downgrade in the March 2025 quarter.

Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX:AZY) will bank $40 million to accelerate exploration and development at its 100%-owned Minyari Project in the Paterson Province, Western Australia. The share placement is priced at A$0.60 per share and the company will issue around 66.7 million new shares. The placement price reflects a 12.4% discount to both the company’s last closing price on July 2, 2025 and its five-day volume weighted average price.

Combined with existing cash reserves of approximately A$36 million, the A$40 million Placement will see Antipa emerge with a post-raise cash balance of around A$74 million (after costs). This strengthened financial position is expected to support the delivery of key value catalysts over the coming two years, while preserving balance sheet flexibility.

Dynamic Metals Ltd (ASX:DYM) is ready to advance its exploration at the Chalice South gold prospect, within the Widgiemooltha Project in Western Australia, after receiving heritage clearance from the Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation. The approval clears the way for the company to move forward with its planned 13-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.

The company has also secured the Programme of Work (PoW) approval from the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS), putting it on track for drilling to be completed by the end of the September quarter.
