Drilling set to begin at Chalice South following heritage survey clearance

Dynamic Metals Ltd (ASX:DYM) is ready to advance its exploration at the Chalice South gold prospect, within the Widgiemooltha Project in Western Australia, after receiving heritage clearance from the Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation. The approval clears the way for the company to move forward with its planned 13-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.

The company has also secured the Programme of Work (PoW) approval from the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS), putting it on track for drilling to be completed by the end of the September quarter.

The Chalice South prospect lies along a proven gold trend, south of the Chalice Gold Mine, with historic data and geological modelling highlighting gold anomalies to be targeted in the upcoming drilling.

Targeting gold anomalies along a proven trend

The Chalice South prospect is part of a highly prospective gold corridor that runs south of the Chalice Gold Mine, currently operated by Westgold Resources. The region’s geology is characterised by north-north-west striking, west-dipping mafic and volcanic rock units, which host gold mineralisation.

Historic drilling and surface geochemistry have identified several gold anomalies within the area, which will be the focus of Dynamic's drilling program.

Dynamic’s exploration team has worked to build a comprehensive geological model for the region, drawing on historical data to define key drill targets. The Chalice gold deposit has produced a total of 517,000 ounces from open-pit mining operations in the late 1990s; a smaller underground operation also produced additional gold before being placed on care and maintenance in 2015.

Focused drilling program poised to uncover potential

Dynamic Metals’ planned drilling campaign at Chalice South will consist of 13 RC holes aimed at testing five key targets generated through 3D geological modelling of historical data. The program is designed to further assess the gold potential of the area and provide the necessary data to refine future exploration efforts.

“We are very pleased to have received heritage clearance and regulatory approval to progress our planned drilling at Chalice South,” said Dynamic Metals managing director Karen Wellman.

“The area sits within a proven gold corridor, and the team has done a superb job building a clear geological model to generate focused drill targets. We are grateful for the ongoing support and engagement from the Ngadju community and look forward to an active quarter of exploration.”

Next steps and ongoing exploration

Dynamic Metals is maintaining a systematic approach to exploration across its Widgiemooltha Project. The company recently completed a second-phase RC drilling program at its Cognac West prospect, with assay results still pending.

These results, along with ongoing mineralogical studies, will inform future work programs at Cognac West.

Meanwhile, a first-pass soil sampling program at the Courvoisier gold prospect has been completed, with assays for the 385 samples expected by late July.

The Chalice South drilling program is part of Dynamic Metals’ broader strategy to unlock the full potential of the Widgiemooltha Project, which spans about 800 square kilometres in a highly prospective mineralised region.

Dynamic also holds a variety of exploration tenements across Australia, including joint venture agreements with other parties for further project development.Bottom of Form
