Heritage-Crystal Clean shares soared on the news that the environmental services company is being acquired by an investment affiliate of private equity firm J.F. Lehman & Company (JFLCO), in an all-cash transaction valued at $1.2 billion.

The firm will acquire Crystal Clean for $45.50 per share, representing a 24.9% premium to its 60-day volume-weighted average price on July 19, 2023.

Hydrogen technologies will be a "pivotal" source of energy over the coming decades, while carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) and nuclear fusion are "unlikely to have a significant impact" before 2030, according to JPMorgan.

In the investment bank's annual global energy outlook, it did note that hydrogen (H2) should play a crucial role, particularly for hard-to-abate sectors such as steel, ammonia, and heavy-duty transportation, the amount of investment could be hindered by regulatory impediments.

Analysts at Wedbush have reiterated their ‘Outperform’ rating and upped their price target for Netflix following the streaming giant’s second quarter results, despite investor disappointment over the report sending the stock almost 9% lower.

The analysts raised their price target from $475 to $525, reflecting a price-to-earnings multiple of 30 times their 2025 earnings per share (EPS) estimate and 29 times their 2032 free cash flow estimate of $12 billion, discounted at the 10-year treasury rate.

Kenvue Inc has reported a strong set of maiden results following its spin-out from Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) earlier this year.

The consumer health company, whose brands include Aveeno, BAND-AID, Johnson’s, Listerine, Neutrogena and Tylenol, reported a 5.4% increase in net sales for the three months to June 30, 2023. Excluding foreign currency fluctuations, it said organic growth was up 7.7%.

Magna International (TSX:MG), a Canadian auto parts supplier, announced on Thursday that it will invest $790 million to build three new supplier facilities to meet the rising demand for parts as automakers ramp up their production of electric vehicles.

Two of the new facilities will be located at Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F)'s BlueOval City campus in Tennessee to support the production of Ford’s second-generation electric truck, the company said in a statement.

BullionVault Ltd has said half of the private investors (49.5%) it surveyed have forecast that the price of gold will increase by 10% by the end of the year, to around $2,125 per troy ounce.

Some are even more bullish, according to the firm's half-yearly research report, with 15% believing that the gold price will increase by 20%, while one in five (21%) predict no change. That gives a consensus outlook for gold to end 2023 at $2,110.

American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:AAL) reported strong second-quarter earnings thanks to a strong start to the busy travel season.

The Fort Worth-based airline reported revenue of $14.06 billion, up 4.7% year-over-year and topping Street expectations of $13.74 billion. Earnings were $1.92 per share, up from $0.68 per share a year early and above expectations of $1.59. Flying capacity was up 5.3%.

For the period, the company posted distributable earnings, being the profit available to shareholders, of $1.2 billion ($0.93 per share), down from almost $2 billion this time in 2022.

Semiconductor stocks struggled Thursday morning after Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC announced a projected 10% drop in sales for 2023.

The largest contract chipmaker in the world also said investment spending is likely to be in the lower end of its previous $32 billion to $36 billion forecast, pointing to lower demand for chips amidst economic headwinds. That decline has not been nearly offset by rising demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips, the company said.

Causes of Action include Breach / Repudiation of the terms of the Farmout Agreement (FOA), Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) and License Contract associated with the 43,158 acres property known as the VMM-37 block which is located in Colombia’s Middle Magdalena Valley Basin (VMM-37).
