The collapse of Silicon Valley Bank occurred because the bank’s leadership failed to effectively manage its interest rate and liquidity risk, according to the Federal Reserve vice chair for supervision Michael Barr.

Cloud DX (TSX-V:CDX, OTCQB:CDXFF) Inc announced that it has signed a new US contract as well as two Canadian contract extensions, bringing this year's total agreements to date to 15, compared to 28 in all of 2022.

The health data platform technology company said its new US contract is with an Illinois-based primary care clinic and has an estimated deployment value of up to C$170,000 in the first full year, while its contract extensions are with two Ontario-based health providers with an estimated deployment value of up to C$90,000 over 12 months.

Baylin Technologies (TSX:BYL) Inc shares jumped 34% to $0.45 on Monday after the diversified global technology company announced that its Advantech Wireless Technologies subsidiary has received a C$537,000 purchase order from a major US Government Systems Integrator specifically for the US Department of Defense for its frequency converters.

Baylin said the order is the latest installment of an IDIQ (indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity) program for specially designed radio frequency converters.

Meridian Mining UK Societas (TSX:MNO) shares surged 20% to $0.56 on Monday after the explorer and resource project developer provided an update on the ongoing drill program at its Cabaçal volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) gold‐copper project in Brazil, which included a 12.8 metre intersection of 12.7% copper equivalent, or 19 grams per tonne (g/t) gold equivalent, from a high-grade feeder zone found in drill hole CD-240.

Meridian said CD-240 hit the highest-grade VMS copper-gold feeder zone to date at Cabaçal, with peak assay grades of 17.9% copper and 34.1 g/t gold, and multiple copper assays grading greater than 17.0% copper.

After months of delays, Brookfield Asset Management (TSX:BAM.A) Inc and its consortium of buyers have reached an A$18.7 billion (US$12.4 billion/C$17 billion) deal to buy Australian utility giant Origin Energy Ltd (ASX:ORG).

The consortium, which also includes Washington DC private equity firm EIG Global Energy Partners, had upped its offer to acquire Origin in recent weeks. The final purchase values Origin at A$8.912 per share, according to regulatory filings.

Disney will begin laying off staff this week, the first of three rounds of job cuts before the summer that will see 7,000 roles slashed, according to a memo from its CEO Bob Iger.

The cross-company job cuts are part of a broader suite of cost-cutting measures totalling $5.5 billion, including $3 billion in content spend.

These virtual “ghost kitchens” took off during the Covid-19 pandemic as restaurants moved to utilize otherwise empty kitchens and make up for lost sales by offering their existing products under revamped brand names.

DAVIDsTEA (NASDAQ:DTEA) told investors it has been accepted for listing on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V) and that its common shares will commence trading on the Canadian exchange on Monday, April 3, 2023, in Canadian dollars and under the 'DTEA’ ticker symbol.

As a result of its listing on the TSX-V, the company said it intends to voluntarily delist its common shares from the Nasdaq and file a Form 25 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on or about April 7, 2023, with trading on the Nasdaq expected to cease at the close of markets on Friday, April 14, 2023.

Copper Mountain Mining Corporation reported fourth quarter and full-year results before the bell Monday, revealing revenue that topped Street expectations and promising 2023 production guidance.

The company posted revenue of $90.3 million in the quarter ended December 31, down from $136.8 million a year earlier but ahead of analyst expectations of $87.4 million. Its adjusted net loss was $0.10 per share, compared to a gain of $0.11 per share in 2021 and wider than Street expectations of a $0.01 loss.

Pinterest stock could offer more than 25% upside if the company is able to drive revenue growth through improved advertising, according to a UBS analyst.

The analyst upped its rating for the social media company to ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral’ and raised its price target to $35 from $27. That’s a 27% premium on Friday’s closing price of $27.47.

Mountain Boy Minerals announced that effective March 30, 2023, it is changing its name to MTB Metals to better reflect the company’s status as a metal explorer with multiple projects encompassing copper, gold, silver, and other metals.

Carnival Corp shares were up after the cruise operator reported a smaller-than-expected first-quarter loss for fiscal year 2023, helped by resilient demand for leisure travel and on-board spending.

For the period ended February 2023, the Miami-based cruise giant reported a loss of $690 million, or $0.55 per share, on revenue of $4.4 billion. The consensus estimate for the 1Q was a loss of $0.62 per share on revenue of $4.3 billion. Revenue grew 173.1% on a year-over-year basis.

Alibaba Group Holding Limited shares climbed after news broke that billionaire founder Jack Ma has reportedly returned to China, ending a stay overseas of more than a year.

Ma had a rocky 2021 with the Chinese government, leading to time out of the public eye. Reuters cited sources saying that the “sober mood” of Ma’s businesses eventually “spurred the new premier to reach out.”

Cameco Corporation (TSX:CCO) told investors that the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has issued revised reassessments for the 2007 through 2013 tax years that will result in the company being refunded a total of approximately $300 million.

The uranium producer said the refund consists of $89 million in cash and $211 million in letters of credit, which it previously remitted to the Government of Canada based on prior reassessments CRA had issued in its long-standing tax dispute. The timing of the refund is yet to be determined, it added.

Auxico Resources Canada Inc (CSE:AUAG, OTCQB:AUXIF) told investors it has received approval to trade its common shares on the OTCQB marketplace, a US trading platform operated by the OTC Markets Group Inc, and that its OTC stock symbol remains ‘AUXIF’ following the uplisting from OTC Pink Sheets.

The company noted that the OTCQB is recognized as an established public financial market for international companies, including natural resource companies in the mining and exploration industry. It anticipates the move will help increase visibility, expand liquidity and further diversify its shareholder base.

Tesla shares moved higher in pre-market trading on Monday after analysts at Barclays reiterated their bullish outlook for the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer ahead of the release of its first-quarter deliveries and production numbers.

The analysts forecast a modest beat from deliveries in 1Q 2023, projecting 425,000 deliveries against the consensus expectation of 420,000. Tesla delivered 405,000 vehicles in the same quarter last year.

SPC Nickel Corp (TSX-V:SPC, OTC:SPCNF) has announced the intersection of massive to semi-massive sulphide mineralization in its Phase 1 drilling campaign at the recently consolidated West Graham and Crean Hill 3 properties in Ontario.

Drilling intersected a 143-meter (at 76 to 219 meters depth) zone of "West Graham-style" mineralization consisting of 5 to 20% disseminated to blebby sulphides in hole WG-23-026, the eighth drill hole of the Phase 1 campaign. Contained within this intersection was an unexpected 7.8-meter interval (at 170.05 to 179.9 meters) hosting several intervals of massive to semi-massive sulphide mineralization.

First Citizens has entered into a deal to assume all loans and deposits of Silicon Valley Bridge Bank, the entity created by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp following the closure of SVB.

Dye & Durham Limited told investors it is mulling a listing for its TM Group subsidiary on London’s AIM market as an alternative to selling the UK business to a third party, to get the best deal for the company and its shareholders.

The company, a leading provider of cloud-based legal practice management software designed to make managing a law firm, organizing cases, and collaborating with clients easy, said it has appointed finnCap Ltd as nominated advisor with respect to a potential admission of TM Group to AIM. It would first effect a spin-out of the company to shareholders, it added.

The company sees the full US$14.8mln of principal being covered by the refinancing which is led by COPL’s main bondholder, institutional stakeholders, and new institutional investors, plus the company noted that it is also issuing some US$2.2mln of equity - 26.8mln shares at a ‘premium price’ - to settle payables due to the company’s arm's length creditors.

Alkaline Fuel Cell Power Corp said it has granted an aggregate of 15,918,298 restricted share unit (RSUs) to certain arm’s length consultants of the company. The RSUs will vest in accordance with the terms of each consultant’s RSU agreement and in accordance with the company’s 2021 RSU Plan. Upon vesting, each RSU will entitle the holder thereof to receive one common share in the capital of the company. The company also announced the resignation of Dr Richard Lu from its board of directors, effective March 24, 2023. The company thanked Dr Lu for his contributions to PWWR since accepting the role in 2022.

Carlyle Commodities Corp said it has entered into a marketing and market awareness agreement with the CanaCom Group for the provision of digital content, marketing, and media distribution services to the company. One World Lithium Inc (OWL) has announced that effective March 22, 2023, Fernandez Young LLP, Chartered Professional Accountant have been appointed as the company’s auditors until the next annual general meeting of the company. Fernandez Young replaces BDO Canada LLP as the company’s auditors. OWL also announced that is has granted incentive stock options to certain of its directors, officers, management and consultants of the company to purchase up to an aggregate of 5,100,000 common shares. QC Copper and Gold Inc has said it intends to complete a non-brokered private placement offering at a price of $0.14 per offering share, for gross proceeds of up to $1.6 million. ‎ The financing with is expected to be exclusive to strategic institutional Quebec funds who are long-term shareholders. The closing of the private placement may be completed in one or more tranches. The net proceeds will be used for exploration and development of QC Copper's Opemiska Copper Project in Chapais, Québec and for general working capital purposes. There is no minimum aggregate subscription amount for the private placement, but completion is subject to all regulatory approvals, including TSX Venture Exchange acceptance. Depending on market conditions, the gross proceeds of the private placement could be increased or decreased. ReVolve Renewable Power Corp announced that it has submitted an application to have its common shares posted for trading on the OTCQB Venture Market in the US. The company said potential benefits of trading on the OTCQB include efficient market standards, as well as increased liquidity and visibility within the US investment community. Algernon Pharmaceuticals Inc. has announced a rights offering to eligible shareholders of record at the close of market on March 29, 2023. The company said a holder resident in an eligible jurisdiction will be offered one transferable right for each share held, with each right entitling the holder to subscribe for one unit of Algernon at a subscription price of $0.25 per unit. Each unit will consist of one share and one transferable share purchase warrant, with each warrant entitling the holder to purchase one additional share at the exercise price of $0.52. It said the rights will begin trading on March 28, 2023, under the symbol AGN.RT and will expire at 2pm Pacific Time (5pm ET) on April 27, 2023. Trading in the rights will be halted at noon on April 27, 2023.

Deepspatial Inc has closed the final tranche of a non-brokered private placement of unsecured convertible debentures for gross proceeds of $102,750, the company announced. The debentures will bear interest at 10% per annum. Until the maturity date, holders may convert the principal into units of the company price of $0.15 per unit. Each unit consists of one common share and half of one share purchase warrants. Whole warrants entitle their holders to purchase additional shares at a price of $0.30.
