Baylin Technologies stock surges on US Department of Defense order

Baylin Technologies (TSX:BYL) Inc shares jumped 34% to $0.45 on Monday after the diversified global technology company announced that its Advantech Wireless Technologies subsidiary has received a C$537,000 purchase order from a major US Government Systems Integrator specifically for the US Department of Defense for its frequency converters.

Baylin said the order is the latest installment of an IDIQ (indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity) program for specially designed radio frequency converters.

The company noted that frequency converters are essential to facilitating satellite communications.
