For its first quarter, the FTSE 100 company reported an 11.3% rise in subscriptions
“Expectations have been lowered sufficiently and the prioritisation of annualised recurring revenue growth by [management] is in tune with investors' priorities", the Swiss bank said in a note on Monday
In an update for its first quarter, the software firm reported that recurring revenues had risen 4.7% to £408mln, offsetting a 24% decline in other revenues to £39mln, which in turn boosted total organic revenues by 1.4% to £447mln

The enterprise software specialist said in April that due to uncertainty caused by the pandemic it expected full-year organic recurring revenue growth to be below the previously guided range of 8-9%
The accounting software firm had already purchased £6mln worth of shares
The disposal is part of the accounting software group's plan to focus on subscription software and the ‘Sage Business Cloud’
Recurring revenue in the three months to 31 December was up 10.7% compared to the first quarter the year before

“Sage was priced for upgrades going into today’s update which have not materialised due to declining legacy business,” said one analyst
Strategists at the investment bank downgraded its rating on global equities as it saw a "poor" risk/reward outlook for the next three months
