Sunstone’s cash and equity investments remain strong at ~$18 million, allowing expanded exploration activities at both El Palmar and Bramaderos.
The company looks to have made a major discovery at El Palmar Porphyry Copper-Gold Project in northern Ecuador, intersecting 480 metres of gold-copper mineralised porphyry from the surface in the first hole completed on the project.
The company has significant exploration and evaluation programs going forward which should result in steady news flow.
Importantly, all the holes drilled so far are mineralised from shallow depths, firming up the theory that El Palmar is host to a large gold-copper porphyry discovery.
“The intersection at Alba is clearly an exceptional result which we will follow up immediately. The broader Alba target opens up a number of areas for drill testing," says MD.

A second drill rig has been contracted and is now drilling at the high-grade West Zone gold target.
The next drill hole will be undertaken at Bramaderos Main target to follow-up an historical hole which intersected 248.1 metres at 0.56 g/t gold and 0.14% copper from 9.1 metres.
The halt will remain in place until Monday 30th October 2017.
