In the three months to December 31, 2020, the recruiter’s gross profit dropped by 20% to £165mln, from a 32% fall in the third quarter

The recruiter posted an £800,000 loss before tax in the six months to June, from last year’s £74mln profit
PageGroup reported a 47% slump in gross profits in its second quarter, while Robert Walters suffered a decline of 33% in the same period
PageGroup announced stricter cost-saving measures, including firing 250 staff by the end of this month
The recruiter has nine offices in China where operations have still not resumed as normal
Fee-earner headcount was reduced by 89 over the year, with cuts in the fourth quarter blamed on “heightened geopolitical and macro-economic uncertainty seen in a number of the group's markets”
Recruiter chops 10% off full-year profits expectations after second warning
"We are pleased with our first half performance, however we remain mindful of challenging macro-economic conditions seen in a number of our regions,” said chief financial officer, Kelvin Stagg.
