Internet of Things (IOT) enabler Telit Communications Plc (LON:TCM) has received the long-awaited certifications for its LTE CAT-1 VoLTE modules.
The delay in getting the approvals was one of the reasons why Telit’s first half revenues came in below expectations.

Telit said at the time that it expects to recoup these delayed revenues in 2018 and the clearance means it will now be able to ramp up the shipping of the modules next year.
By combining LTE CAT-1 technology with VoLTE support, Telit reckons the new modules are “ideal” for applications in industries such as home and business security, people tracking and wellness monitoring.
“The delay in this VoLTE certification, as previously mentioned, was one of the reasons for our revenue shortfall in the first half,” said interim chief executive Yosi Fait.

“However, in line with our existing expectations, this certification clearance will enable us to ramp up the shipping of these modules in 2018.”
He added: “The IoT industry is mainly focused on data traffic, but voice communication, either by itself or simultaneously with data, is essential for applications like home security systems.
“As a major supplier to the IoT segment of security and surveillance and many others dependent on voice, we are intent on continuing to deliver achievements like this certification.”
