Telit says three of its modules are now good-to-go on devices that use AT&T's LTE network

"Voice over LTE is an absolute necessity for the Internet of Things"

Telit Communications PLC (LON:TCM) said several of its modules have received approval for use on AT&T Inc's (NYSE:T) long term evolution (LTE) nationwide network.

The certified modules are members of Telit's best-selling xE910 family and can easily be applied as a pin-to-pin replacement for existing devices based on the family's modules for 2G, 3G, LTE Categories 1, 3 and 4.

The Aim-listed enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT) said certification means IoT integrators and providers can immediately integrate and test their devices with the certified modules and start leveraging the reliability and coverage of AT&T's LTE Cat 1-VoLTE (voice over LTE), Cat 4-VoLTE and Cat 11 services for the IoT.

"Voice over LTE is an absolute necessity for the IoT particularly for the American market where operators need to turn off spectrum-inefficient circuit switch voice technology,” said Yosi Fait, Telit's interim chief executive officer.

"Our existing customers using 2G, 3G and non-VoLTE modules from our xE910 family can now simply drop in the VoLTE variants, go through required testing with our help and start deploying voice capable products," he added.
