TNR Gold Corp (TSX-V:TNR, FRA:TNW, OTC:TRRXF) urged shareholders to reject a dissident bid by shareholder Jon Christian Evensen, known as "Koala," calling on them to back the company's blue proxy nominees ahead of a vote that will decide whether he gains control of the company.

Kirill Klip, TNR’s CEO, said TNR Gold's focus remains on advancing its strategy, maximizing the value of its royalty portfolio and acting in the best interests of all shareholders.

"We are grateful for the many shareholders who have reached out to us in recent days and look forward to continuing that dialogue,” Klip said.

“While others may choose to focus on empty rhetoric and personal attacks, we remain focused on strategic execution, experienced stewardship and long-term value creation.”

TNR Gold said the dissident's latest release repeats personal attacks against management, the Board and its advisors, without offering a credible plan for how its nominees would enhance the company's strategy, improve operating performance, advance its royalty interests, strengthen its financial position, or create value beyond replacing the incumbent Board.

The meeting is scheduled for September 22.
