Critical Mineral Resources expects maiden resource at Agadir Melloul in October

Critical Mineral Resources PLC (LSE:CMRS, FRA:98J) told investors that it is targeting October for the maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate at its Agadir Melloul copper project in Morocco, following extensive drilling during 2025 and 2026.

Independent geological and mining consultancy Addison Mining Services has been appointed to prepare the estimate and has started reviewing geological, drilling and assay data. It has also completed a site visit to inspect the geology, mineralisation, drill core and drilling processes.

The maiden resource will principally reflect delineation, infill and step-out drilling at Zone 1 North and is expected to cover only around 5% to 6% of CMR’s current permit area. That excludes additional ground over which the company holds exclusivity for potential future acquisitions.

Addison chief executive and principal geologist James Hogg said the consultancy was “extremely encouraged by the geology and mineralisation inspected” and the project’s target-size potential.

CMR chief executive Charlie Long said the estimate would provide Agadir Melloul’s first independently assessed mineral resource and form “an important technical foundation for the next stage of project development”.

"Over the last 12 months we have generated a substantial body of drilling, geological and assay data at Zone 1 North and it is encouraging to receive Addison’s initial observations following its review of the project, our processes and inspection of the geology and mineralisation," Long said.

He added: "We are very pleased with the progress being made and look forward to working with Addison through completion of the work and updating shareholders when the maiden JORC MRE is published.”

The maiden MRE will provide the first independently estimated Mineral Resource for Agadir Melloul and is an important technical foundation for the next stage of project development.

Exploration work will continue elsewhere across the project while Addison completes the MRE.
