Rockfire Resources PLC (LSE:ROCK) told investors that its farm-in partner Eastern Resources (ASX:EFE) has returned high-grade rock-chip results from the Marengo Goldfield in Queensland, Australia, reinforcing the case for shallow gold-silver mineralisation at the project.
The recently collected samples all returned anomalous to elevated gold levels, Rockfire said, with 20 samples exceeding 1.0 grams per tonne gold and 13 above 5.0 g/t. The peak assay was 12.30 g/t gold and 9.2 g/t silver.
Other highlighted results included 10.25 g/t gold and 9.9 g/t silver, 9.43 g/t gold and 3.5 g/t silver, and 8.91 g/t gold with silver above 100 g/t.
Eastern is sole-funding exploration at Marengo for three years under a binding farm-in agreement entered into with Rockfire in September 2025. The agreement requires Eastern to spend AUD$1.5 million across three stages to earn up to an 80% interest in the Marengo exploration permit.
Rockfire would also receive AUD$1 million, in cash or Eastern shares at Eastern’s option, if Eastern announces a JORC mineral resource estimate of at least 500,000 ounces of gold at a minimum average grade of 2.5 g/t gold.
