Halma continues dealmaking spree with pair of healthcare acquisitions

Halma PLC (LSE:HLMA) has struck a pair of healthcare acquisitions worth a combined £54 million, extending its dealmaking spree after its biggest ever year for acquisitions.

The FTSE 100 safety equipment group said it had acquired Dutch hospital software business Itemedical for €23 million (about £20 million), and Sweden's Naslund Medical for $45 million (about £34 million). Both deals will be funded from existing facilities.

Itemedical provides digital platforms that integrate patient data and alarms from different medical devices, helping hospitals manage workflows and support clinical decisions. The business generated unaudited revenue of €7.8 million in the 12 months to 31 March.

Naslund Medical specialises in fiducial marker technology used in targeted cancer treatment. Its Gold Anchor product helps clinicians pinpoint tumours during radiation therapy. The company generated unaudited revenue of $9.2 million in the year to 31 March.

Group chief executive Marc Ronchetti said: "These acquisitions strengthen our existing companies by adding complementary capabilities in markets they know well, supporting their long-term growth while enabling improved patient outcomes."

The new double-deal comes after Halma invested a record £447 million on five acquisitions in its last financial year to March and has already completed two further deals worth about £75 million in the current year.
