Powerhouse Energy Group PLC (AIM:PHE, FRA:BT81) said it will take part in a new €5.85 million Horizon Europe project aimed at advancing circular business models, with the AIM-listed company expected to receive around £225,000 for the use of its technology.
The project, called JUST-CIRCLE, is being led by Brunel Business School at Brunel University of London and brings together 14 partners across nine countries.
Powerhouse said the consortium will examine how circular business models can be designed, measured and implemented in ways that are environmentally sustainable, socially fair, financially credible and practical to adopt.
JUST-CIRCLE will develop and test frameworks for sustainability accounting, lifecycle impact assessment and circular business-model innovation across sectors, including agriculture, waste-to-energy, food services and circular water reuse.
Chief executive Paul Emmitt said the project was “a prestigious opportunity” to use Powerhouse’s technology to provide key data to the consortium.
The first kick-off meeting is scheduled to be hosted at Brunel University on 10 and 11 June.
