AuKing completes initial airborne survey at Tundulu rare earths project
AuKing recently completed an initial airborne magnetics and LiDAR survey over a large portion of its Tundulu Rare Earths project in Malawi, marking the first field activity since announcing the acquisition.
The drone-based program covered the 5-kilometre-wide carbonatite intrusive complex, including the historically drilled Nathace Hill area and other interpreted carbonatites on nearby topographic highs, including Makhanga Hill, Namuka Hill, Ichigwakalu Hill and Tundulu Hill.
Around 330 line-kilometres were flown over 10 days, with the survey designed to improve AuKing’s understanding of the project’s subsurface intrusive architecture, structural controls and topography.
The company said the results would support refined drill targeting across the broader Tundulu alkaline-carbonatite system.
