Market movers: Sarepta Therapeutics, US Rare Earth, SkyWater Technology, CoreWeave...

Quantum computing company IonQ (NYSE:IONQ) announced Monday that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SkyWater Technology (NASDAQ:SKYT), a US-based semiconductor foundry, in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at about $1.8 billion.

Under the terms of the deal, SkyWater shareholders will receive $35 per share, subject to a collar.

Sarepta Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:SRPT) shares moved higher in early trade on Monday as it reported positive topline three-year results from its Phase 3 EMBARK study evaluating its gene therapy ELEVIDYS in ambulatory patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Sarepta said patients treated with ELEVIDYS demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful slowing of disease progression across key functional measures compared with an untreated external control group.

Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, XETRA:NVD) has invested $2 billion in AI infrastructure provider CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) as part of an expanded strategic collaboration between the two companies.

Under the terms of the investment, Nvidia purchased CoreWeave Class A common stock at a price of $87.20 per share. CoreWeave shares added more than 12% to about $104 at Monday’s opening bell on the news, while Nvidia edged 0.2% higher to about $188.

USA Rare Earth (NASDAQ:USAR) shares surged more than 20% pre-market after the company disclosed that it has entered into a preliminary agreement with the US government for a large strategic investment.

The Stillwater, Oklahoma–based company said it has signed a non-binding letter of intent with the US Department of Commerce under the CHIPS Act, outlining a proposed funding package totaling about $1.6 billion. The package includes roughly $277 million in direct federal funding and a proposed $1.3 billion senior secured loan.

S4 Capital PLC (LSE:SFOR, OTC:SCPPF) shares surged 39% to 26.9p after digital advertising group said it closed the year with revenue and earnings ahead of market expectations.

Spot gold surged 1.9% above $5,000 per Troy ounce on Sunday, as Asia Pacific trading opened, rising above $5,090 per ounce in early European trading.
