NioCorp Developments Ltd. (TSX:NB, OTCQX:NIOBF) on Thursday announced an agreement with Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works advanced development programs division to support the development of a scandium-based defense technology.

The program, which is being funded by the US Department of War, is designed to produce prototype components of aluminum-scandium alloy that will expand the capabilities of modern fighter aircraft.

The Trump administration is in discussions with several quantum computing companies about taking equity stakes in exchange for federal funding, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Companies involved in the talks include IonQ (NYSE:IONQ), Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ:RGTI), and D-Wave Quantum (NYSE:QBTS), while others such as Quantum Computing Inc. (OTCQB:QUBT) and Atom Computing are considering similar arrangements, according to the Journal, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter.

Abacus Global Management (NASDAQ:ABL) announced that it successfully sold $50 million of securitized life insurance assets in a deal that was structured as an above investment-grade rated collateralized note.

The alternative asset management company said the innovative transaction enables institutional investors, banks, and insurance companies to gain direct exposure to life insurance assets via an uncorrelated rated structure.

Charbone Hydrogen Corporation (TSX-V:CH, OTCQB:CHHYF) announced that it has generated its first revenues following the delivery of 161,000 cubic feet of helium to an independent distributor in the Greater Toronto Area.

The shipment marks the launch of the company’s Helium Division and its entry into the North American specialty industrial gases supply chain.

G Mining Ventures Corp (TSX:GMIN, OTCQX:GMINF) announced that its board of directors has formally approved the start of full construction of its 100%-owned Oko West Gold Project in Guyana, following the completion of permitting and financing milestones.

The mining company said the initial capital cost of construction is US$973 million, which is in line with the Feasibility Study estimate, and detailed engineering is 36% complete.

Thor Energy PLC (AIM:THR, OTCQB:THORF, ASX:THR) shares were up 20% on Thursday after announcing it had signed a binding agreement with DISA Technologies Inc, to treat abandoned uranium mine waste at its Colorado projects.

The company said the agreement includes a gross revenue share from the sale of recovered uranium and critical minerals using DISA’s High-Pressure Slurry Ablation (HPSA) system.
