Market movers: Nvidia, Plug Power, Medicus Pharma...

Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, ETR:NVD) shares were down 3.5% on Monday afternoon after news that China’s Huawei Technologies is preparing to test a new high-end artificial intelligence chip aimed at rivalling Nvidia’s flagship products.

Huawei is preparing to sample its Ascend 910D AI chip in May, aiming to match or outperform Nvidia’s H100, according to reports.

Arizona Gold & Silver Inc (TSX-V:AZS, OTCQB:AZASF) announced it has acquired approximately 300 acres of land intended for possible leach pad or tailings disposal use in support of future development at the Philadelphia gold project in northwestern Arizona.

The land was secured through claim staking and carries no obligations beyond the payment of annual maintenance fees to the US government, the company said on Monday.

Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) shares surged after the company announced strong preliminary revenue results for the first quarter of 2025 and the signing of a significant $525 million secured credit facility with Yorkville Advisors.

The company, which is developing green hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, said it expects first quarter revenue in the range of $130 million to $134 million, in line with the analyst consensus of $131.6 million.

Medicus Pharma (NASDAQ:MDCX) announced that it has entered into a binding letter of intent to acquire Antev, a clinical-stage biotechnology firm developing a first-in-market product Teverelix for acute urinary retention (AUR) and high cardiovascular risk prostate cancer.

Teverelix, a next-generation GnRH antagonist, targets the prevention of recurrent AUR in males aged 45 years and older with benign prostate hyperplasia.

Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, ETR:NVD) shares were marked lower in pre-market trading on Monday after reports that China’s Huawei Technologies is preparing to test a new high-end artificial intelligence chip aimed at rivalling Nvidia’s flagship products.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Huawei’s Ascend 910D chip is expected to challenge Nvidia’s H100 processor, with sample batches ready as soon as late May.
