Innovative Eyewear launches Reebok ChatGPT glasses with Micah Richards

Innovative Eyewear – a Tekcapital PLC (LSE:TEK) investment and a name most investors are unlilkely to have heard of unless they frequent niche Nasdaq listings – has decided it’s time the world needs a ChatGPT-enabled Reebok sunglasses.

It has launched the new Reebok 'Smart Eyewear' range today via its Lucyd.co site, with plans to release onto Reebok.com and other retailers in the coming months, publicised via a partnership with jovial former Manchester City defender Micah Richards.

A few headlines from the press release: the global smart glasses market is apparently heading towards US$13 billion by 2030, and these Reebok shades come fitted with "custom high-fidelity speakers" and "outdoor-optimised" amplifiers and equalizers.

The specs are designed to deliver audio clarity "while maintaining environmental awareness, an important safety feature for athletes and urban pedestrians".

Innovative Eyewear CEO Harrison Gross (son of Tekcapital founder Dr Clifford Gross) called the launch a "watershed moment for the entire smart eyewear category", saying the AI-integrated eyewear enhances athletic performance.

For the sports star endorsement, Richards gushes: "What impressed me most about Reebok Smart Eyewear isn't just how good they look — it's that I can stay connected without losing awareness of what's happening around me."

Tekcapital shares rose 7% to 7.75p on Monday morning.
