As the election campaign barrels on and economists finish digesting the latest inflation figures and the Bank of England’s decision not to cut interest rates, investors are set for a quieter week.
Although plenty of noise will be heard across the country as England's Euros campaign continues, while in the capital, the Wimbledon Championship gets underway.
However, back in the world of business company updates from the likes of Currys, AO World and Moonpig will provide a deeper dive into the consumer mood and whether it’s improving, like May’s consumer confidence index showed on Friday.
Watches of Switzerland’s update will offer a look into the turbulent luxury sector, which was exemplified when upmarket trainer Golden Goose pulled its IPO last week.
The pre-scuffed trainers brand beloved by Taylor Swift and J-Lo, said the reason was because "the significant deterioration in market conditions following European Parliament elections this month and the calling of a general election in France…impacted European markets performance and, in particular, the luxury sector".
Meanwhile, FTSE 100 veteran Bunzl will report results, with investors hopeful that its sales growth can speed up and get the shares pushing forward again.
The last working week of June will be much quieter for UK macroeconomic data, though the gross domestic product (GDP) update on Friday could be seized upon by political parties ahead of the general election the following week.
