Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel faced sharp criticism at a US Senate hearing Wednesday over the company’s plan to quintuple the price of its Covid vaccine when it hits the private market.

Moderna intends to increase the list price of its vaccine to $130 for the private market, compared to the $26 per dose the company has been charging the US government. The shots could be available on the private market as early as this fall.

French pharma multinational Sanofi's Dupixent drug has achieved impressive results in a late-stage trial to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), aka ‘smoker's lung’.

Developed jointly with US biotech group Regeneron, Dupixent caused a 30% reduction in moderate or severe acute exacerbations of COPD among a trial group of 939 current or former smokers.

Iris Energy Limited (NASDAQ:IREN) announced that, following the start of installation of its newly-acquired miners, it has increased its operating hashrate to a current level of 2.0 exahashes per second (EH/s), which is part of the company’s recently-announced increase in self-mining capacity to 5.5 EH/s.

The sustainable Bitcoin mining firm said an additional 0.8 EH/s of miners have been delivered and are in various stages of unboxing, transportation between sites and installation, while the remaining 2.7 EH/s of miners are in transit with progressive deliveries scheduled between now and the end of March with the majority expected to be operational shortly thereafter.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) expects its electric vehicle (EV) business to lose $3bln this year but affirmed that it remains on track to achieve its objective of an earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) margin of 8% by late 2026.
