Cobra Resources nears completion of latest round of drilling at Clarke prospect
Following the drilling, a resource update is expected early in the new year

In 2023, Cobra discovered a rare earth deposit with the potential to re-define the cost of rare earth production. The highly scalable Boland Project in South Australia’s Gawler Craton is Australia’s only ionic rare earth project with the potential for in situ recovery (ISR) mining – a low-cost, low-disturbance method. Cobra is focused on de-risking the investment value of the discovery by proving ISR as the preferred mining method which would eliminate challenges associated with processing clays and provide Cobra with the opportunity to define a low-cost pathway to production. Cobra’s Wudinna Project tenements also contain extensive orogenic gold mineralisation, including a 279,000 Oz JORC Gold Mineral Resource Estimate, characterised by potentially open-pitable, high-grade gold intersections. Cobra’s extensive Western Eyre Peninsula landholding contains a number of defined sandstone hosted uranium occurrences amenable to ISR mining. The company aims to develop and grow these uranium assets as it works to define the scale of ionic REEs across the landholding.

Driiling is expected to produce sufficient results to inform an updated gold resource estimate and contribute to a maiden rare earth resource estimate
The combined REE footprint at Clarke, Baggy Green and Thompson has increased to over 22.5 sq km from 4 sq km previously
Work underway currently includes a 2,000m drill programme at Clarke
"The aircore programme has been highly successful, demonstrating grades, widths, and scalability of a highly desirable magnet rare earths province," Rupert Verco, chief executive, said
"These results further validate our belief that the Wudinna project is a potentially significant, high-value rare earth jurisdiction,” said chief executive Rupert Verco
“Over a six-month period, we have unveiled an exceptional value-add opportunity with rare earth mineralisation,” said chief executive Rupert Verco

The participation of South Australia-based Taylor Collison was is a result of considerable interest from Australian investors arising from the recent rare earths discovery at the Clarke prospect, within Wudinna
The company considers the discovery of rare earths overlaying gold mineralisation to be significant, with grades and intercept widths comparable to other rare earth projects of considerable market value
