While it is unlikely the Footsie will finish the year in credit, three more days of 60 points gains will see it go close

The FTSE100 dipped 12 points at to 6,381 while over in the US the Dow Jones is poised to start lower on a half-day for the markets.
There were a few blue chips cheaper as well as Footsie dipped 23 points at the open to 6,369.

London’s blue-chips turned higher as the day wore on to finish ten points higher.
The UK’s main index remained flat throughout the morning session and was just 2 points higher at lunch to 6,270.
