Scholastic Corporation, together with its subsidiaries is a global children’s publishing, education and media company. The Company is a publisher and distributor of children’s books and a provider of educational technology products and related services. I Scholastic also creates educational and entertainment materials and products for use in school and at home, including magazines, children’s reference and non-fiction materials, teacher materials, television programming, film, videos and toys. The Company is a operator of school-based book clubs and book fairs in the United States. It distributes its products and services through these channels, as well as directly to schools and libraries, through retail stores and through the Internet. The Company operates in four segments: Children’s Book Publishing and Distribution; Educational Publishing; Media, Licensing and Advertising (which collectively represent the Company’s domestic operations), and International.
