Stratex International brings back former chief executive to sort out future

Foster, who left in August 2016, has been offered the job on an interim basis

Gold miner Stratex International plc (LON:STI) has invited former chief executive Bob Foster to take up his old job following the departure of Marcus Engelbrecht.

Foster, who left in August 2016, has been offered the job on an interim basis and on similar terms to his previous time in charge.

He will carry out an independent review of the company's position and strategy. Prior to his retirement, Foster had been at the helm for ten years.

Peter Addison, chairman, said: “[Foster] has a unique history with the company that will be highly valuable in reviewing and formulating the company's strategy.

Stratex’s shareholders voted to remove Engelbrecht and to scrap a proposed merger with Australian firm Crusader at a recent general meeting.

He left the company completely on Monday.
