Shoe Zone lifts profit guidance again

The footwear retailer again has raised its forecast from a loss of £14.6mln reported in fiscal 2020

Shoe Zone PLC (AIM:SHOE) said it expects to increase adjusted profit before tax in the current financial year, driven by a stronger performance than expected

The footwear retailer said it expected PBT to be not less than £10.5mln for the year ending October 2, 2022, up from £9.5mln a year earlier.

Continued strong demand for summer and back-to-school products throughout August has led to margin improvements.

The expected PBT figure is adjusted to exclude the profit on the sale of freehold property and foreign exchange revaluations.

In June, the company said it expects to post a higher adjusted profit given strong margin and cost savings at the footwear retailer, and a month later said at least £9.5mln profit was expected, above the previous forecast of £8.5mln.

It has once again raised its forecast from a loss of £14.6mln reported in fiscal 2020.

Shares of the company rose 11% to 161.2p in early trade on Wednesday.
