Amplia Therapeutics Ltd (ASX:ATX) has received a Research and Development Tax Incentive Refund of more than $1.8 million for the 2021/2022 financial year.
The total amount of $1,843,003.65 recognises the company’s work in Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK inhibitors), AMP945 and AMP886, with R&D activities primarily related to the ATX’s Phase 1b/2a ACCENT clinical trial of AMP945 in first-line pancreatic cancer patients, toxicology studies supporting longer-term dosing of AMP945 and further manufacturing development work.
Advancing cancer inhibitors

FAK is an increasingly important target in the field of cancer immunology and Amplia has a particular development focus in pancreatic and ovarian cancer. FAK also plays a significant role in several chronic diseases, such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
The Australian Government’s Research and Development Tax Incentive Refund provides eligible companies with cash refunds for 43.5% of eligible expenditure on research and development activities.
