Chesnara strengthens leadership team with new appointments

The leadership changes "will help ensure we are well placed to pursue the strategic opportunities we continue to see, including the delivery of future acquisitions", said CEO Steve Murray

Chesnara PLC (LSE:CSN) named two senior leadership appointments aimed at boosting its M&A and commercial capabilities.

The European life insurance consolidator appointed Al Lonie, currently group company secretary, as group chief of staff.

In his new role, Lonie will help drive and oversee the group's wider strategic agenda and delivery, including driving value from acquisitions, Chesnara said in a statement.

Lonie will continue to be a member of the group executive committee.

In addition, the company appointed Amanda Wright as group general counsel and company secretary. Wright will provide commercial and legal advice on strategic development, as well as supporting governance.

She will also be a member of the group executive committee.

Wright will join Chesnara later in the year. She has 15 years of experience in the financial services sector and was most recently head of strategic relationships at abrdn PLC.

WATCH: Chesnara is well capitalised and able to progress opportunities, says CEO Steve Murray

"The changes we are announcing today further enhance the strength of our senior leadership team,” commented Chesnara CEO Steve Murray.

He noted that Wright’s capabilities in M&A, outsourcing and wider commercial negotiation “strongly align with our focus at Chesnara”.

“These further changes will help ensure we are well placed to pursue the strategic opportunities we continue to see, including the delivery of future acquisitions," Murray said.
