Arecor Therapeutics to give presentation on Phase I trial of its AT278 insulin product at EASD

"AT278 has the potential to be the first, and potentially only, ultra-concentrated (500U/mL) yet ultra-rapid acting insulin,” said chief executive Sarah Howell

Arecor Therapeutics PLC (AIM:AREC) will give a presentation on the Phase I clinical trial of its AT278 ultra-concentrated ultra-rapid acting insulin for diabetes at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes event in September.

The biotech company said it was selected to give a presentation at the event to be held on 19-23 September in Stockholm, Sweden and online. The annual conference typically attracts more than 15,000 delegates from over 130 countries.

"AT278 has the potential to be the first, and potentially only, ultra-concentrated (500U/mL [Units per millilitre]) yet ultra-rapid acting insulin,” said chief executive Sarah Howell.

“This product offers the potential to significantly improve post prandial control whilst also reducing the injection volume and number of daily injections for the growing population of people living with diabetes who have high daily insulin needs, particularly those with type 2 diabetes.

“In addition, with its unique profile, AT278 is a key enabler in the development of next generation miniaturised insulin delivery devices, an expected future disrupter in the market.”

Arecor Therapeutics presented positive results from the Phase I trial of AT278 at the International Advanced Technologies and Treatments for Diabetes meeting in April.
