Future 'on track' to hit full-year targets; completes Who What Wear acquisition

The publisher said audience growth returned in the second half of the year

Future PLC (LSE:FUTR) said it remains on track to hit its full-year targets as it completed the acquisition of Who What Wear, a US-based digital women's lifestyle publisher.

Having reported that audience numbers had declined in the first half of the year, the publisher of magazines and websites said in a short trading update that audience growth has returned in the second half.

With this “encouraging” performance continuing since an upturn in April, the FTSE 100-listed group is confident of achieving guidance for the year to the end of September.

Chief executive Zillah Byng-Thorne said the group continued to benefit from the effect of its diversified audiences and revenue streams, its operating leverage, excellent cash conversion and strong balance sheet.

Having completed the acquisition of WhoWhatWear.com and co.uk, she said it “enhances our leadership position in the women's vertical, and delivers further scale and reach in North America, as we aim to reach one in two users online in the US”.
